If the bolt on a frame Slider bends that's good thing as only other option is to put energy or mounting point. If your Slider shatters, grinds off or bends then it did its job. No cut frame Sliders aren't a direct bolt on like as they often have bracket.

When f1 cars hit the side of a track they explode as don't want drive to absorb energy. You don't want it solid after a crash or didn't absorb any energy but merely transferred on to what bolted. You want them to stay attached but get beat up and take the energy.
